Almanzor association strikes again

Almanzor association strikes again16 Oct 2022

Holymanz continued our successful association with Nicolas De Chambure when the three-year-old made the perfect start to his career at Horsham with a smart debut victory.

He is a son of Almanzor, who with associate stallion Hello Youmzain shuttles to De Chambure’s Haras d’Etreham operation in Normandy, France.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Holymanz had been given a quiet lead-up trial ahead of his first appearance and proves too good for his rivals over 1400 metres.

“He began a fraction slowly and recovered quickly. He’s still a little bit green, but when he got to the front he was too good form them,” rider John Allen said.

Holymanz travelled well in second spot before he strode to the front before the turn and kicked away to win by 3.25l.

“He’s a nice horse, well put together and he couldn’t have done any more. He was still a little bit big in condition so he’ll improve,” Allen said.

We purchased Holymanz for A$400,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale where he was offered by Lime Country Thoroughbreds on behalf of breeder Jamieson Park.

He is out of the winning Dubawi mare Perfect Offering, who also has an unraced Almanzor two-year-old, and she is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Group performer My Country.
