A son from Almanzor's second European crop will race in the famous blue colours of Godolphin after he was purchased by the international giant for 425,000gns, approximately NZ$875,000, at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in England overnight.

The Highclere Stud consigned colt is a half-brother to current Gr.1 star Palace Pier and clearly had the looks to match his pedigree. Bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud overcame spirited competition to land the winning bid on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation.

The son of Nayef mare Beach Frolic is now the highest priced progeny by Almanzor sold in the Northern Hemisphere, eclipsing the previous high price of €450,000 for a filly at Arqana in August.
