Almanzor colt makes a statement

Almanzor’s first youngster through the ring at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale set the ring abuzz this afternoon.

Presented by Bhima Thoroughbreds, the colt was the subject of spirited bidding before he was knocked down for AU$340,000.

The only Almanzor yearling offered on the opening day, he was signed for by Waller Racing and Mulcaster Bloodstock.

The colt was bred by Stephanie Hole and is a son of the Mastercraftsman mare Choice, who won three races including the G3 Eulogy Stakes.

It is also an internationally-performed family that includes G2 South African Oaks winner Wind Chill.
