Dawla gave her rivals a start and a beating when she made a successful return to racing at Wyong.

The Cambridge Stud-bred and sold daughter of Almanzor was making her first appearance for five months and the Brad Widdup-trained representative doubled her winning tally with a strong resuming performance over 1200 metres.

In the hands of apprentice Zac Wadick, Dawla settled at the back of the field before circling runners near the turn and the four-year-old produced a sustained finish to win for the second time in her brief career.

“She came into the race with dapples all over and Zac rode her perfectly,” stable representative Rosie Jilla said.

“The one thing we said to him was to give her plenty of room. She likes to roll into it and she was too good.”

Dawla was purchased out of our draft at Karaka for $70,000 with agent Phill Cataldo and Honeycomb Bloodstock signing the ticket.

She is out of the unraced Lucky Unicorn mare Satisfact who is a half-sister to the multiple Group 1-winning siblings St Reims and Champagne.
