Cambridge Stud was delighted to see Wootton Bassett colt PATASCOY run a brilliant race for second in the Gr.1 French Derby (a.k.a. Prix du Jockey Club) at Chantilly over the weekend, beaten just half-a-length after being wide for most of the trip.
The exciting young sire, Wootton Bassett had previously been seen to advantage in the event when son ALMANZOR swept all before him in its 2016 renewal.
With Champion ALMANZOR one of 17 foals in his first crop and PATASCOY one of 47 in his third, WOOTTON BASSETT is a rising star for French breeders.
It is a great endorsement for ALMANZOR’S pedigree and underlines the unlimited potential of his sire.
