A three-quarter brother to our shuttle stallion Almanzor has added further black type honours to the family and provided sire Wootton Bassett with his fourteenth stakes winner.
The lightly-tried Guildsman came with a well-timed finish to triumph in this week’s Listed Tom Ridge Stakes at Presque Isle Downs.
The Qatar Racing owned three-year-old had previously been stakes placed in North America since joining Brendan Walsh’s operation.
Guildsman began his career with Lambourn trainer Archie Watson and was a debut two-year-old winner.
He also finished runner-up in the G3 Round Tower Stakes and third in the G2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot before his relocation.
The first crop yearlings of Guildsman’s close relative and triple Group 1 winner Almanzor will be offered for sale in 2021.
