A well-related son of Almanzor featured among the top lots at the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s International Sale.

The French-bred chestnut was a popular ticket when he was presented in the Sha Tin parade ring and was knocked down to local purchaser Ng Tai Wing for $620,000 and will be trained by Benno Yung Tin-pang.

The youngster had originally been bought for $460,450 at the Arqana Deauville Select Yearling Sale in 2020 by former champion European jockey Michael Kinane, who now sources young thoroughbred talent on behalf of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

The Almanzor gelding is a half-brother to the three-time Group 1 winner Miss Temple City, whose brother Pricedtoperfection was also a North American Group winner.

Their dam is Glittering Tax, a stakes-performed daughter of Artax and a half-sister to black-type winner Conway Two Step. They are out of Nancy’s Glitter, successful at Listed level on four occasions.
