Cours Vite’s Queensland campaign got even better at the Sunshine Coast where he romped home to victory over 1800 metres.

The Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott-trained son of Almanzor had broken his maiden at Ipswich last month before he finished sixth on a soft track in his next appearance and relished a return to a firmer surface.

The three-year-old, who was raised on our farm, sat back in a small field before rider Jake Bayliss urged him forward three wide 600 metres from home.

The gelding strode to the front soon after straightening and forged clear to claim the thick end of the stake.

We sold Cours Vite at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale on behalf of breeder Dr. Phillip Mak to Wexford Stables for $130,000.

He is out of the American-bred More Than Ready mare Caminadora, who was a quality performer and won the G3 Churchill Down Regret Stakes, and she produced a sister to Cours Vite last season.
