Bumper Blast was back to winning ways at Flemington to further his burgeoning record.
The grey stormed home from well back in the field to trounce his Benchmark 84 opposition.
He is trained by Robert Hickmott, who is confident the four-year-old can progress through to the top grade.
With three wins on the board already from just five starts, he is rapidly justifying his trainer’s opinion.
A son of Ocean Park, Bumper Blast was bred by Brendan and Jo Lindsay and was originally sold at Karaka as a weanling for $65,000.
He is from one of their favourite families as the only foal to race so far for Bucklebury, a well-bred More Than Ready mare.
She is a half-sister to Von Tunzelman, Sheriff and Price Jabeel, who have each one at Group Three level.
Their dam is J’Adane, who only won one race but placed at Group One, Two and Three level.
Bucklebury has a So You Think filly at foot and was served by Embellish this season.
