Aquacade shows true colours

Aquacade shows true colours15 Oct 2021

Well-related filly Aquacade had little go right for her on debut and she turned her luck around at Te Aroha this afternoon with a top effort to add a winning performance to her pedigree at the second time of asking.

Bred and raced by Cambridge Stud, the Lance Noble-prepared three-year-old made her first appearance last month at Taupo where she finished midfield after a tardy start and subsequently suffered an interrupted passage.

Bridget Grylls guided Aquacade’s fortunes today and they settled in fifth spot and one off the fence before making a move 600 metres from home.

The filly swung wide into the straight and finished resolutely to open her account over 1600 metres.

She is a daughter of Dundeel and the unraced Sea The Stars mare Forest of Seas, a half-sister to the G1 English St Leger runner-up The Last Drop. They are out of a three-quarter sister to the French stakes winner and multiple Group placegetter Self Defense.

Forest Of Seas is due to foal to Embellish this spring.
