Right at this moment the most talked-about racehorse in Australasia is Ocean Park; his victory in today’s Group One Underwood Stakes marking him as a genuine W S Cox Plate contender next month.
While he didn’t win at Group One race as a three-year-old last season, his raw ability was certainly noticed and astute observers have not been surprised by his early season trans-Tasman Group One double.
While Ocean Park was turning it on in Melbourne, another star act, It’s a Dundeel made it four wins from as many starts when putting up a huge staying effort to win the Gr.3 Gloaming Stakes at Royal Randwick in Sydney.
Like Ocean Park, It’s a Dundeel is also from a Zabeel mare.
