Avondale Double For Stravinsky

9 Jun 2008

Hot on the heels of Stravinsky's Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap winner Mr Baritone last Saturday, the son of Nureyev landed a winning double at today's Avondale race-meeting.

Stravinsky, who formerly stood at Cambridge Stud and will hopefully return next year to Sir Patrick and Lady Justine Hogan's property, was represented by the winners Je Suis and Sheezsogorgeous.

Je Suis, a three-year-old filly, is trained at Matamata by Paul Jenkins and was ridden by Grant Cooksley.

Sheezsogorgeous, also a three-year-old filly, is trained by Pukekohe by Richard Collett and was ridden by his son, 4kg claiming apprentice Jason Collett.

Stravinsky is the sire of 31 individual winners in New Zealand this season and his progeny have won $928,444.
