London Banker added to his impressive winning strike rate when he doubled his black-type tally at Doomben at his latest appearance.

Further posthumous honours were bestowed on our sadly missed sire Tavistock when the Kelly Schweida-trained seven-year-old proved too good under 58kg for his rivals over 1650 metres in the Listed Brisbane Handicap.

London Banker has now won 10 of his 31 starts, including success in the Gr.3 Tattersall’s Cup over 2400 metres at Eagle Farm during the winter.

The gelding was originally purchased by Cambridge trainer Roger James for $100,000 from the draft of Kilgravin Lodge at the 2017 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale.

He prepared London Banker to win his first four races for owners Ron and Judy Wanless before relocating to Schweida’s Eagle Farm operation.

London Banker is one of the three winners produced by the Encosta De Lago mare Palos De Lago and she is a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner El Segundo.

Their dam Palos Verdes was twice successful at Group 3 level and the second dam is also a half-sister to Gold Deck, who won a brace of Listed events and was a multiple Group placegetter.
