Cambridge Stud-bred 2yo filly
Poetic Music (Stravinsky x Flying Florence) snared a $100,000 bonus on top of the winning stake for her connections with her winning debut in the New Zealand Bloodstock Carnival Sale Bonus Juvenile at Ellerslie on Sunday.

Poetic Music (Stravinsky x Flying Florence) collected the lucrative $100,000 bonus which was on offer from New Zealand Bloodstock for being the first Carnival Sale horse home in the event.

She  was a $11,000 purchase from the Cambridge Stud draft at the 2008 New Zealand Bloodstock Carnival Yearling Sale at Karaka by Pukekohe trainer Richard Collett on behalf of Keith Cronin, of Pukekohe, a real estate developer.

Ridden by Collett's son, Jason, Poetic Music scored by a long neck from Our Saint in an exciting finish to the juvenile event.

Collett was not surprised with the outcome of the race as he knew that Poetic Music was definitely a jump and run horse.

"She is a jump and run early type of filly and I expected a top effort from her in her first race," Collett said.

"She won a trial at Cambridge very nicely which was a good pointer to her chances here," Collett said.

Unfortunately Cronin was not able to join in the celebrations as he is seriously ill.

Collett said he is weighing up future options for Poetic Music for the autumn racing period.
