Big week for Power at Royal Ascot

18 Jun 2015

Curvy, a Galileo half-sister to Cambridge Stud's dual-hemisphere shuttler Power, looked a three-year-old filly if real quality when taking out the Ribblesdale Stakes-Gr.2 at Royal Ascot.

It was the fourth-straight victory for Curvy and her most important to date.  Last month she won the Group Three Gallinule Stakes-Gr.3 at The Curragh, a win which came of the back of victories in April and May at Navan (racing venue at Proudstown near Navan, County Meath, Ireland, approximately 48 kilometres from Dublin).

Curvy has now had 4 wins from 7 starts.  She was unplaced in 3 runs as a juvenile but has been unbeaten so far in her three-year-old campaign.  All her wins have been at 2000m or further.

It was also a massive week for Power's sire Oasis Dream at Royal Ascot with two Group One winners, namely Goldream (King's Stand Stakes-Gr.1) and Muhaarar (Commonwealth Cup-Gr.1).

Power is set to stand his fourth season at Cambridge Stud this year.  A dual Group One winner himself, Power's first-crop Southern Hemisphere foals will sell at Karaka 2016.

Meanwhile fellow Cambridge Stud stallion Tavistock achieved another result in Singapore on Friday night with Titanium taking out the S$80,000 Kranji C Stakes (1800m).  It was his fourth win from eight starts.
