Well-related filly Countess Jenni ran up to her pedigree with an impressive debut victory at Pakenham.
A member of the legendary Eight Carat family, the daughter of the late Tavistock was bred and sold by the farm and congratulations to the Ottobre family who purchased her out of our New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft for $260,000.
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Princess Jenni was given a cosy run in second spot by rider Damian Lane and rounded off powerfully to make the perfect start to her career.
“She began well and travelled lovely and finished off strongly,” Lane said.
“The stable said to put her up there and that she would be right in it.”
Princess Jenni is a half-sister to the dams of the G2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes winner Gift Of Power and the G3 Wellington Stakes winner Devastate.
She is out of the Zabeel mare Diamond Smile who is a sister to the Group 1 winner and producer Don Eduardo and a half-sister to the dual Group 1 winner Tristalove.
