Comanche Brave showed his appreciation of a step up in trip at Ladbrokes Park this afternoon with an all-the-way victory.

The 3-year-old Cambridge Stud graduate beat the older horses over 1800 metres for the second win of his four-start career.

Bred by The Whitby Bloodstock Trust, the Sacred Falls colt is out of Savabeel Star who is also the dam of stakes winner Stella Di Paco.

Comanche Brave was a popular colt at Karaka in 2019 and sold for $240,000 from Cambridge Stud’s draft to agent Phill Cataldo and Michael Kent Jnr.

He is now in the care of Cranbourne trainer Julius Sandhu, who praised jockey Beau Mertens for his front-running ride.

“I was really pleased and wanted to get this guy out in trip and I think he will go even further,” he said.

“Beau rode him a treat and I said to get him rolling and he responded well, he’s got a big tank.”
