Burgundy 4YO Mondorani Registers Second Win this Year21 Jun 2019

John and Karlene Murdoch look to have a very promising galloper in the shape of their homebred Burgundy four-year-old Mondorani.

The Kevin Myers-trained gelding commenced racing in January, and since registering a fourth on debut has registered a second, a win, a third and another win via his 0.5 length victory at Riccarton today.
“Kevin doesn’t say too much but he does rate this horse above average,” said John.

“He likes to drop out and come home over the top of them. I wasn’t sure how he would handle the Slow8 track but it didn’t seem to be a problem for him.”

Mondorani is out of the unraced More Than Ready mare Wildcat Woman, who is a noted daughter of the Gr.1 VRC Oaks winner Arborea.

To date, the Burgundy – More Than Ready cross has resulted in a 100% winners-to-runners ratio, with the two exponents so far of this being Mondorani and the Champion NZB Filly of the Year, Dijon Bleu.
