The Lindsay Racing Team was seen to advantage in Australia today, when the promising 2yo filly Cavalini saluted the judge at Mornington at just career start number three.

Trained by David Brideoake, the smart 2yo daughter of Exceed and Excel hit the lead with 100m to go and was home and hosed from there, winning by 1.75 lengths in the hands of Ben Melham.

Cavalina had indicated she was ready for a bold showing with a last start second at Sale at the end of May.

"She took good improvement from that start and showed a bit of class today,” said David Brideoake’s assistant trainer Alex Woodhams.

“Most likely we’ll back off her now. She’s a two-year-old city winner that we’ll look at some black-type racing with as three-year-old, probably around August, early September.”

Cavalini was purchased by John Foote on behalf of Brendan and Jo Lindsay at the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale for $310,000.

Her dam Diva Dee was Gr.3 placed and is a three-quarter sister to the Gr.1 galloper and now sire, Road To Rock.
