Chick cracks maiden in style

Chick cracks maiden in style2 Nov 2022

All the better for recent racing, Sadler’s Chick produced a tidy performance to break her maiden at Avondale.

The staying-bred daughter of Savabeel had posted five previous placings so her victory over 2100 metres was deserved and achieved in a manner that suggested she can quickly add to her record.

Prepared by Stephen Marsh, Sadler’s Chick travelled comfortably four back on the fence for rider Michael McNab.

When a gap presented itself one off the rail 300 metres from home the mare lengthened stride to find the line strongly.

We sold Sadler’s Chick on behalf of breeder and good friend David Brideoake at Karaka where Albert Bosma’s Go Racing had the final say at $180,000.

The now four-year-old is a half-sister to stakes winner Terry with their dam the unraced Sadler’s Wells mare Kendall Lass.
