26 Feb 2022We were delighted to see our well-related filly Rebel’s Choice make a perfect start to her Australian career.
The Peter Moody-trained three-year-old had trialled well ahead of her Yarra Valley debut and capped off an eventful 20 minutes for us following the black type placings for Under My Spell and Kahma Lass, second and third respectively at Caulfield in the G3 Mannerism Stakes.
Rebel’s Choice was quickly into stride to sit in second spot and she responded to the urgings of rider Brian Higgins to finish resolutely and score a decisive win over 1200 metres.
A daughter of Pierro purchased from Magic Millions as a yearling, she is the first foal of the Redoute’s Choice mare Regatta Rebel who was a talented mare and placed in the G3 Kindergarten Stakes and in the G3 Ken Russell Memorial Classic.
The second dam is the former champion three-year-old and multiple Group 1 winner Alinghi and also the family of the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude winner and G1 Blue Diamond Stakes placegetter Beneteau.
