Deserved victory for Savabeel mare7 Oct 2022

Sociabeel has kept us waiting and our patience was finally rewarded at Cranbourne with a breakthrough victory from the Savabeel mare.

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained four-year-old had placed in each of her previous four appearances before she took full advantage of a gilt-edged opportunity over 1600 metres to justify her short price.

Taken straight to the front by Daniel Moor, Sociabeel was travelling strongly on the turn and she coasted clear in the run home to win by 2.25l.

“It was a nice performance and a great result for Cambridge Stud,” said co-trainer Natalie Young.

“Two starts back I thought she had got the nod in, but a few of those have gone against us. There’s plenty more racing to come for her.”

Sociabeel was bred by the Bax family and we purchased her at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for A$330,000.

A half-sister to multiple winner and stakes performer Kingsman, she is a daughter of the O’Reilly mare Society Lady who was successful as a two-year-old.

She is a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner Final Destination, who has produced the Japanese Group Three winner Final Form, with top-flight winners Irish Fling and Tyzone also featuring on the pedigree page.
