Sir Patrick Hogan has announced today that the Coolmore Stud-owned Power (Oasis Dream ex Frappe, by Inchinor) will shuttle to Cambridge Stud for the coming breeding season.
Power offers breeders fantastic racetrack performance coupled with a sire line utterly-proven in this part of the world.
Power was a Group One winner at both two and three years.
At two he raced 6 times; won 4 of them and was placed in the other two outings, as follows
WON Curragh National Stakes-Gr.1 (7.75f)
WON Royal Ascot Coventry Stakes-Gr.2 (6f)
WON Curragh Marble Hill Stakes-LR (5.5f)
WON Curragh Alfred Nobel 2YO Maiden Stakes (6.5f)
2ND Curragh Phoenix Stakes-Gr.1 (6.5f)
2nd Newmarket Dewhurst Stakes-Gr.1 (7f)
Sir Patrick Hogan pointed out a significant fact about Power and his first three dams.
“Power won his two-year-old debut run; so did his mother, so did his second dam and so did his third dam,” he said today.
At three years Power trained on Irish Two Thousand Guineas-Gr.1 (8.75f) for trainer Aidan O’Brien.
In all Power had 9 starts, 6 of those were at Group One level. He won 5 times and was twice placed second before being retired to Coolmore Ireland for this year’s breeding season.
Power is a son of Oasis Dream (62 SW), Great Britain’s second-leading sire in 2009 and 2010 and third on that list in 2011.
Power is a grandson of Green Desert; his sire-sons include the successful stallions Desert Sun (sire of Sunline), Cape Cross (sire of Seachange) and Volksraad (8 times Champion NZ Sire).
A fee for Power will be announced in the coming week.
