Embellish has made a fast start to his stallion career and that wasn't lost on buyers at the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale. Two sons of our first season sire provided their owners with a significant payday when they went through the ring at Karaka.

Lot 219, a gelding from the Riversley Park draft, was making his second appearance in the Karaka sale ring after selling for $65,000 as a yearling and that price increased to $200,000 following a slick breeze up time of 10.30.

The son of Keeper mare Preetha Varma was bred by Mark and Lorraine Forbes of Kiltannon Stables and was purchased by MM & TWG.

Lot 168 was another son of Embellish that created a favourable impression during the breeze ups and after spirited bidding it was Singapore trainer Dan Meagher who landed the winning blow in partnership with Lims Stables for $150,000.

The sale was a fantastic result for Sonia Waddell and her father Alistair Scown who bred the colt after purchasing his dam Meritaggio carrying the colt in utero for just $5,251 on Gavelhouse.com.
