Embellish strikes at stakes level

Gifted three-year-old Bold Soul has credited our young stallion Embellish with his first black-type winner.

He made the trip to Tasmania worthwhile when he claimed the Listed Launceston Guineas over 2100 metres to take his record to three victories and two placings from five appearances for Victorian trainer Paddy Payne.

Bold Soul was crowded at the start and settled back on the outer and was under hard riding from jockey Jake Noonan to pick up ground 700 metres from home.

The gelding responded positively and rounded up his rivals in the straight to win going away by a length and a-quarter.

Bold Soul is the last foal of the now retired Singspiel mare Twin Soul and was bred by Lou Te Keeti.

He was sold at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Book 2 Yearling Sale for $20,000 to Wanganui horseman Hamish Auret and subsequently relocated to Payne’s operation.

Savabeel’s Group 1-winning son Embellish will be represented by 15 yearlings at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sales and we will offer his sole Book 1 youngster, Lot 446.

The colt is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Stylish Achiever and the family of the G2 Maribyrnong Plate and G3 Blue Diamond Preview winner Sanziro.

A further 14 sons and daughters of Embellish will be offered during Book 2 at Karaka.
