High-class mare Entriviere opened her winning account in emphatic fashion this afternoon with a stylish victory in the G2 Sheraco Stakes at Kembla Grange.

The daughter of Tavistock had been off the scene since she finished runner-up in the G2 Sapphire Stakes at Randwick in April, but trainer Jamie Richards had her ready to go with the benefit of a couple of trials.

Entriviere travelled easily for James McDonald one off the rail in midfield and charged home in the straight to post her sixth victory from eight appearances.

She was bred by trainer Kevin Gray with his wife Kathleen with the dam Marcey’s Belt a half-sister to the G2 Light Fingers Stakes winner Adrift and the Karaka Million winner Xiong Feng.

Our shuttle stallion Hello Youmzain will be serving an outstanding book of mares this season and Marcey’s Belt, who is out of a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner Maldivian, features among them.

Entriviere’s latest success will have her in pole position for the invite only AU$2 million The Invitation, a new fillies and mares’ race and the 1400 metres will be ideal for her, according to McDonald.

“She’s had a couple of blemishes but apart from that her determination is just incredible.

“She’s a very tractable mare now and you can do anything with her. I think there is more to come from her. She will run a strong seven furlongs, that is for sure,” he said.
