European mares secured at Tatts Sale1 Dec 2022

We have again dipped into the European market to add international flavour to our broodmare band with three purchases at the Tattersalls December Mares’ Sale.

The trio were secured with the assistance of respected Queensland bloodstock agent John Foote and the Lillingston Bloodstock agency.

The Irish-bred Terra Mitica was purchased for 100,000 gns out of New England Stud’s consignment and she will be given the opportunity to add to her racing record before she joins the broodmare band.

She has twice won up to 2000 metres and has yet to miss a top four placing in her seven appearances from Sir Michael Stoute’s stable.

Terra Mitica is a daughter of Ulysees and the Giant’s Causeway mare Mississippi Delta, who was a multiple black-type winner in North America.

We were also delighted to secure Sea The Moon’s daughter Allemande from the consignment of Lanwades Stud for 95,000 gns.

The grey is out of the Galileo mare Almiranta, a granddaughter of the multiple Group 1 winner Alborada, who has produced the stakes winners Alea Iacta, Alyssa, Aloe Vera and Albaflora.

Completing our purchases was the Jamie Railton-offered Suspicious, who is by Nathaniel and was knocked down for 50,000 gns.

A two-year-old winner last year, she is a half-sister to the G3 Bewitch Stakes winner Cay Dancer and the French Listed winner Dynamic.

They are out of the Dalakhani mare White Cay, who is from the family of the G1 Coronation Stakes winner Balisada.
