Tavistock mare Entriviere confirmed her status as a rising star with an emphatic victory at Ellerslie on Boxing Day.

She delivered a stunning uppercut to her Rating 74 rivals when she bolted clear in Danielle Johnson’s hands.

Entriviere has now won three of her four starts and trainer Jamie Richards said she is a stakes mare in waiting.

“When they quicken like that it’s the sign of a very good horse. She looks Group class for sure.”

Richards said Entriviere will get her black type chance, but possibly not until the autumn.

“She may be a little bit suspect on the hard tracks so we’ll look after her.”

Entriviere settled midfield and one off the fence and was coasting at the top of the straight.

When Johnson slipped the four-year-old more rein she exploded clear to win easing down by four lengths.

Bred by Kevin and Kathleen Gray, Entriviere is out of Marcey’s Belt who won on three occasions.

Marcey's Belt is a half-sister to the G2 Light Fingers Stakes winner Adrift and the Karaka Million winner Xiong Feng.
