Familia’s fortunes turned around at Pukekohe this afternoon with the promising filly accounting for her older opposition.

The Lance Noble-trained three-year-old had stepped out in the Gr.3 Soliloquy Stakes at her previous run, but luck deserted her.

She led early before settling in the trail and was denied a run in the closing 150 metres, going to the line hard held in seventh spot.

Rider Leith Innes took the reins this afternoon and they proved a winning combination for Familia's second success from seven starts.

The Brendan and Jo Lindsay-bred and Cambridge Stud raced filly is a daughter of Makfi and the High Chaparral mare Enjay.

The dam is a half-sister to the Gr.2 Shannon Stakes and Gr.3 Cameron Handicap winner Rolling Pin.

She is out of the black type winner Gypsy’s Daughter, a half-sister to another stakes winner in Kiss N’ A Shilling.

Enjay produced a colt by Ocean Park in 2019.
