Karaka 2014 could well represent the last time that buyers will be able to select a yearling Zabeel filly at public auction. While the Champion Stallion still has one crop to come, the numbers are limited and filly owners are likely to be reluctant to let go of female stock by Australasia's number one broodmare sire.
Zabeel has been Champion Broodmare Sire in both Australia and New Zealand for the past two seasons straight and right now he again sits and the head of the respective Australasian damsire premierships.
