Aquacade is a determined filly and she did us proud this afternoon at Te Rapa where she produced a mighty performance to beat her older opposition over 1600 metres.

The homebred daughter of Dundeel has done little wrong in her brief career for our trainer Lance Noble and has now been successful twice from just four appearances.

She is nominated for the G1 New Zealand Oaks and wasn’t disgraced in her first black type test when a previous sixth, and only 2.6l off the winner, in last month’s Listed Trevor & Coralie Eagle Memorial.

Aquacade settled midfield today before rider Leith Innes made his move 600 metres from home and she produced a relentless finish in the straight to spark celebrations at the farm.

She is out of the unraced Sea The Stars mare Forest of Seas, a half-sister to the G1 English St Leger runner-up The Last Drop. They are out of a three-quarter sister to the French stakes winner and multiple Group placegetter Self Defense.

Forest Of Seas has a two-year-old colt by Tavistock and was served last year by our resident sire Embellish.
