Filly turns her fortunes around

Jaarffi let herself down when unplaced on debut and she put that to rights in fine style at Avondale where she broke her maiden in style 1200 metres.

Our daughter of Iffraaj missed the jump and raced ungenerously at the first time of asking at Pukekohe last month and, as a result, was sent back to the trials.

The Lance Noble-trained filly redeemed herself with a runaway five and a-half length win and, with the blinkers off and the shadow roll on, followed that up on race day.

The well-related Jaarffi settled back of midfield on the fence and rider Craig Grylls took the shortest way home and the three-year-old finished too well along the rail for her rivals.

She is a homebred daughter of the Redoute’s Choice mare Pride Of Tralee, a half-sister to the three-time Group 1 winner Serenade Rose and to the dam of Trekking, twice successful at the elite level.

Pride Of Tralee is also the dam of the multiple winner and stakes performer Crystal Fountain.
