A European-bred son of Almanzor is bound for a racing career in Australia.
The Victorian-based agent Brad Spicer teamed up with Elliot Bloodstock Services, of Newmarket, to purchase a colt at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale for £245,000 (NZ$480,000).
The Almanzor colt is a half-brother to the French Classic-placed Dice Roll (Fr) (Showcasing {GB}), who started his career in Chantilly with Fabrice Chappet, then raced in Hong Kong under the name of Gold Win and, now known as Dice Roll once more, has had renewed success in Australia.
Trained by Nick Ryan, Dice Roll is unbeaten in two Australian appearances and is out of the Pulpit mare Schlague and the family of the Group 1-winning siblings Recital and Corre Caminos.
“Dice Roll has been doing really well down there, and Almanzor hasn't had a runner there yet but he has been very popular at the sales down there. It's been great working with Brad,” Elliot said.
