A Cambridge Stud graduate was to the fore during the International Jockeys’ Championship at Happy Valley in Hong Kong.

Gallant Crown was successful in a Class 4 event for rider Alexis Badel to propel him to third in Wednesday evening’s competition.

Trained by Tony Millard, Gallant Crown is a lightly-tried Hallowed Crown four-year-old that was sold for $40,000 to Mark and Lorraine Forbes' Kiltannon Stables at Karaka.

He is a son of the Stravinsky mare Justagem, who was successful on three occasions up to 1600 metres.

She is a half-sister to the G1 Captain Cook Stakes winner Penny Gem, grand-dam of the dual Group 3 winner Night’s Watch.

Justagem foaled a colt by Darci Brahma this spring and is currently in foal to Almanzor.
