Medaglia D’Oro’s honest daughter Glitzy Girl overcame a testing track to break through for her maiden victory at Echuca this afternoon.

The David Brideoake-trained filly traveled well in third spot before rider Rhys McLeod allowed her to stride up three wide 700 metres from home and was in front at the top of the straight.

“The two leaders didn’t take us far and she was a bit of a sitting duck. She was waiting for them, but she really fought on well,” he said.

Glitzy Girl has been consistent throughout and had placed in four of her previous five starts, all significantly on top of the ground.

She was an AU$460,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale purchase with Qatar Bloodstock and is a daughter of the G1 Coolmore Classic winner Steps In Time and the family of the dual Group 1 winners Glamour Puss and Vision And Power.
