Tavistock four-year-old mare Imperial Lass (ex Tricia Ann, by Zabeel) resumed on a winning note today at Ballarat, winning a Benchmark78 over 1600 metres in the hands of Linda Meech.

Trained by Peter Moody, Imperial Lass was having her first start since finishing third in the Queensland Oaks-Gr.1 (2200m) behind Winx at the end of May.

The Oaks placing was one of two black type placings last season for Imperial Lass, the other effort being a third in the MRC Ethereal Stakes-LR (2000m) around this time last year.

From the first crop of Tavistock, Imperial Lass was bred, raised and sold by Cambridge Stud.  Peter Moody went to $125,000 to secure her at the 2013 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale.
