Gravitelle moved up to a suitable distance at Ellerslie today and the imported mare showed her appreciation with a hard-fought victory.

The Cambridge Stud-raced mare was making the third appearance of her current campaign and struck a winning blow over 2100 metres.

Trained by Lance Noble and ridden by Leith Innes, Gravitelle showed all her fighting qualities to prevail in a driving finish.

She has been patiently handled and has fashioned the tidy record of three wins from nine outings.

Gravitelle has an international background as she was purchased by bloodstock agent John Foote at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in England for 26,000gns before commencing her racing career in New Zealand.

She is by leading British sire Pivotal out of the winning Nayef mare Quenelle, who is a half-sister to the black type winner Viva Vettori.

The headline act on the pedigree page is the former European champion and multiple Group 1 winner Ouija Board.

She is the dam of the three-time Group 1 winner and sire Australia and the Group 3 winner Our Voodoo Prince.
