24 Jan 2014

Cambridge Stud's Tavistock ex Sara Ann colt, Lot 229 for Karaka Premier, has had a significant pedigree update with the half-brother by Keeper being unbeaten in two starts in Hong Kong.

Named Archippus, the 3YO won his Hong Kong debut over 1000m 24 November and backed it up with further success over 1400m 05 January.

The colt on offer at Karaka next week is from the second crop of Tavistock, a dual Group One-winning son of Montjeu.  Tavistock will be represented by a runner in tomorrow night's Karaka Million, with Longchamp (Tavistock ex Shot at the Title) jumping from barrier number two.

Longchamp, who has won his only start to date, was purchased out of last year's Cambridge Stud Karaka Select Sale consignment with trainer Andrew Campbell going to $40,000 to secure him.

Tavistock has 8 yearlings on offer in the Premier Sale, 17 in the Select Sale and 7 in the Festival Session.
