Half-sister to Anniversary winner sells at Karaka

Abidewithme's storming victory in today's Listed Anniversary Handicap at Trentham Gardens brought a smile to the face of Sir Patrick Hogan for more than one reason.

Not only does he race the daughter of Redoute's Choice with his wife, Lady Justine Hogan, but he has the half-sister by Stravinsky entered for the upcoming NZB Karaka Premier Sale.

The filly is Lot 428 for Karaka and part of a strong consignment Cambridge is offering by the utterly-proven sire Stravinsky.

The dam of Abidewithme and the Stravinsky filly is Crimson, a Zabeel mare who won the ARC Championship Stakes-Gr.2 and the Waikato Guineas-Gr.3 before being retired to stud where she has left six winners.

The best to date is Miss Scarlatti (by Stravinsky), a Listed winner at Flemington and also placed second in the Group One VRC Oaks.

Abidewithme had to be very good to win today.  Racing on a Fast1 surface, the mare got a long way back in the running, but charged home for Matt Cameron to score a convincing victory.
