Trainer Peter Lock is looking forward to stable star Hiflyer stepping out in today's Listed Winter Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.

“Hiflyer did a couple of nice rounds of the track and he pulled up really well and looks nice and bright," commented Lock to the NZ Racing Desk.

The Group One-placed son of Tavistock has drawn the inside gate and will carry top-weight of 59.5kgs under regular rider Jonathan Parkes.

“Johnathan arrives on Friday afternoon and he knows the horse better than anyone and we will work out what happens in terms of rider after Saturday.

“There is another Listed race worth A$150,000 over 1500m at Rosehill in a fortnight, and that looks a possible target.

Hiflyer is bred by Sir Patrick & Lady Hogan, who now race the talented gelding with the Go Henry Racing Syndicate.

To date, Hiflyer has achieved 9 wins from 1200m to 1600m, including two Gr.3 wins in the ARC Eagle Technology Stakes and the WRC Thompson Hcp.
