Home-bred youngsters in demand at Easter Sale5 Apr 2022

Our pair of youngsters offered at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale proved to be a popular duo and were highlighted by the sale of a well-related daughter of champion sire Written Tycoon.

Presented as Lot 199 at Riverside Stables, the filly had a number of buyers chasing her before the bay was knocked down to Kiwi bloodstock agent Bruce Perry for A$280,000.

She is a half-sister to our Spirit Of Boom filly Grace ‘N’ Grey, who placed on her two-year-old debut before beating subsequent Karaka Million winner Dynastic at Ellerslie on Boxing Day in her only other appearance.

They are out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Gracious Grey, a two-time winner who has a Written Tycoon yearling and foaled a Pierro colt last season before she was served by Almanzor.

The powerful and successful combination of champion trainer Chris Waller and bloodstock agent Guy Mulcaster are fans of Almanzor and they went to A$240,000 to secure his son offered as Lot 20.

The colt is out of the Domesday mare Western Belle, who was successful twice and is a half-sister to the two-time Group 1 winner Regal Power and the G2 Western Australian Derby winner Action.

Western Belle produced a Pierro filly in 2021 and was served by Savabeel.

It is a family that high-profile breeder and owner Bob Peters has enjoyed outstanding success and the pedigree page also features the multiple Group 1 winner Arcadia Queen and the Group winners Arcadia Dream and Arcadia Prince.
