Our home-bred son of Tarzino was coming off a maiden success at Cranbourne to beat his older and more seasoned opposition over 1800 metres and have his trainers considering Derby options in the autumn.
Immediacy provided his Karaka-bound half-sibling by Hello Youmzain with another significant pedigree update with his latest performance.
“He’s certainly got a lot of upside, we’ll back off him now and give him a bit of time and then come back with a plan,” said Trent Busuttin, who trains the gelding with partner Natalie Young.
Immediacy settled in fifth spot off the rail and was ridden along before the turn by jockey Luke Currie before he responded to the calling of his rider and lengthened stride impressively in the run home.
“He was off the bridle, but I still thought he would pick up and I was tossing up on whether to put blinkers on him and he will have them next start,” Busuttin said.
We will offer Immediacy’s half-sibling as Lot 626 during the Book 1 session of New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale at Karaka.
They are out of the Pivotal mare But Beautiful, who was a three-time winner in England up to 1600 metres and is a half-sister to the stakes winners Ayrad and Dawn Of Hope.
But Beautiful’s second dam is the G1 Beverley DS Stakes winner Fire The Groom, mother of the multiple Group 1-winning sprinter Stravinsky, who enjoyed such a decorated stallion career at Cambridge Stud.
All four of But Beautiful’s foals to race have been successful and she is in foal to Embellish.
Immediacy was originally purchased from the draft of Kiltannon Stables at Karaka for $15,000 by Game Lodge and was then secured by Busuttin Racing and Group 1 Racing for $200,000 when offered by Riverrrock Farm at the Ready to Run Sale.
