International double for Almanzor

International double for Almanzor20 Feb 2022

Almanzor has flexed his muscles in France where a pair of lightly tried sons of our well-credentialled shuttle stallion delivered a winning double

Intuitu, a colt we race with our good friends at Haras d’Etreham, was first to salute at Cagnes-Sur-Mer and his lead was successfully followed by Le Duc, with both three-year-olds prepared by Jean-Claude Roget.

Intuitu was making his second appearance having finished runner-up on debut over 2000 metres and he made no mistake over the same trip this time with a five-length drubbing of his rivals in Cristian Demuro’s hands.

He is out of the winning Dubawi mare Irrecevable, who is a daughter of the dual Group 1 winner Janet, and was a $150,000 purchase at the Arqana Deauville Select Yearling Sale.

Le Duc also finished second on debut over 1500 metres on the track and scored by a narrow margin over the same distance with Simon Planque in the saddle.

The gelding is a son of the Canford Cliffs mare Seaella, a multiple winner and Group performer, who is a half-sister to the G2 Superlative Stakes winner Mystery Power.
