International look to Cape Blanco's first three winners

19 Jul 2015

Former Cambridge Stud shuttler Cape Blanco has already sired three winners and had a further three placegetters as his first-crop Northern Hemisphere runners begin to emerge.

Cape Blanco has sired two winners, both fillies, in Russia and has had a colt winner in Great Britain.

Interestingly all three juvenile winners are from mares by sires easily recognisable in the Southern Hemisphere; the damsires in question being Cape Cross, Danehill Dancer and Medaglia dÓro, respectively.

Cape Blanco shuttled to Cambridge Stud for the past three seasons, covering 310 mares in all.  His first-crop Southern Hemisphere yearlings have been on offer during 2015.  His Karaka Premier Sale yearlings sold up to $450,000.

Cambridge Stud sold his top lot, a filly from Love Diamonds which fetched $450,000.  Curraghmore Stud sold the second-leading seller, a filly from Alagant Satin which made $380,000.

Cape Blanco, who is now permanently-based in the Northern Hemisphere, will be represented by yearlings at the 2016 and 2017 sales series.
