Well-related Cambridge Stud mare Nessun Dorma struck an international blow overnight when her first foal L’Operateur was successful in the United Kingdom.

The son of Siyouni races in the Cambridge Stud colours and broke his maiden over 1500 metres at Ffos Las for trainer and expatriate New Zealander Sir Mark Todd.

Nessun Dorma was purchased by the stud at the 2017 Tattersalls December Mares’ Sale for $134,500 with Queensland bloodstock agent John Foote signing the ticket. She is a half-sister to the G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly winner Now We Can (GB) (Martillo {Ger}).

Nessun Dorma is now based in New Zealand and her second foal, a colt by Tavistock was sold at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale by Maluka Thoroughbreds to leading trainer Ciaron Maher for AU$240,000.

The mare also has a Tavistock yearling filly and will visit Almanzor after she foals to So You Think.
