In winning his third straight race from as many starts, Tavistock 4YO Hasselhoof confirmed his previous promise with another stylish victory today at Ruakaka.
He clocked 1.34.84 for the 1600 metres, the fifth-factest rcorded at Ruakaka since 1997. Hasselhoof actually holds the record of 1.34.46 which was clocked at his previous start where he won by 11 lengths.
Hasselhoof raced in a midfield position today for Matt Cameron. He loomed up at the top of the straight and held out a game El Pescado to win by a length-and-a-half.
From the same first crop of Tavistock as stablemate Volkstok'n'barrel - who performed with credit in today's Gr.1 NZB Memsie Stakes at Caulfield - Hasselhoof could be seen in Melbourne this spring.
According to a report in today's 'Informant' (www.theinformant.co.nz), co-trainer Donna Logan is considering a start for the Hasselhoof over 2400 metres at Caulfield on Underwood Stakes Day, 26 September.
Inbetween times he is likely to be seen out again in a fortnight back at Ruakaka over 2000m.
Hasselhoof is from Alpine, a daughter of Champion Stallion Zabeel.
