One of numerous daughters of Zabeel to sell well at the NZB Karaka Premier Sale was Cambridge Stud’s filly from Better Alternative (Flying Spur).
The stylish filly was knocked down to Bahen Bloodstock/Malua Racing of Victoria for $400,000.
The new owners of the Better Alternative filly will be pleased to know that three of the current top four favourites for the Telecom New Zealand Derby-Gr.1 (2400m) to be run 03 March have Zabeel running through their veins.
Joint favourites Ocean Park and Silent Achiever are both from Zabeel mares, while the equal third favourite, Zurella, is a daughter of the champion sire.
