New Zealand’s Champion 3YO of 2010, Katie Lee, has produced her first foal, a colt by Fastnet Rock.

Raced by Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan from the stable of Graeme and Debbie Rogerson, Katie Lee became the first horse in history to win the New Zealand 1000 Guineas and 2000 Guineas double.

Katie Lee also won five other Group and Listed races and was placed in another four black type events.  She retired with a record of 8 wins (from 1000m to 2000m) and prize money of $1.1m.

Bred by Hallmark Stud and Trevor Hurley, Katie Lee (Pins ex Miss Jessie Jay, by Spectacularphantom) is a half-sister to the Gr.1 winner Banchee; their dam was named NZ Broodmare of the Year for the 2009/2010 Season.
