Keeper 5YO wins Gr.3 Hawkesbury Gold Cup

Keepin' the Dream, a five-year-old son of Keeper and Irish Nassie (Nassipour) recorded his most important win when taking out the Hawkesbury Gold Cup-Gr.3 (1600m) yesterday.

 

Keepin' the Dream had previously been placed second in both the Newcastle Gold Cup-Gr.3 and Wyong Gold Cup-LR and yesterday's victory marked his first black type win in 27 starts.

 

He becomes the 11th individual black type winner for Keeper.  According to figures provided by Arion Pedigrees (www.arion.co.nz), Keeper is the 129 winners worldwide from 211 runners.

 

A close relative of Keepin' the Dream is Castletown, the One Pound Sterling gelding who won 16 races including three Wellington Cups, an Auckland Cup, a New Zealand Derby and the Caulfield Stakes in Melbourne.
