Keeper chalks up 5th NZ SW this season

When the three-year-old filly Magic Belle (Keeper ex Sadie Belle, by Exploding Prospect) beat the older horses to land yesterday’s Tauranga Classic-LR (1400m) at Gate Pa, it provided her sire with his fifth individual black type winner in New Zealand this season.

Keeper’s other stakes winners on the domestic front this term have been Innovation, Sacha, Deane Martin and Move Faster.

It’s been an excellent season for Keeper both locally and offshore.  On the home front he is currently 5th on the NZ General Sires Premiership; 2nd on that list for Winners (59) and 2nd-equal on that list for Wins (82).

In Hong Kong Keeper has had more Wins (21) on the Premiership there than any other stallion, with big names like Encosta de Lago, Danehill Dancer, O’Reilly and Fastnet Rock in his wake.

Keeper is part of the six-strong stallion roster for Cambridge Stud; joining him in the coming spring are newcomers Burgundy (Redoute’s Choice) and Power (Oasis Dream).
